Right to Live--Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Outside an Abortion Clinic

This is from John Barros' Facebook:

[26 October 2015]

Today was Crazy... It was very busy down here in the morning and then a bunch of checkup in the afternoon. We had two turn aways and then one young lady and her friend came out the front door with a huge smile, clenched her fist and threw it up to the sky, looked at us and yelled, "We have chosen life" It was so Beautiful. They took the info and said they would be going to Choices.... Please pray for these ladies.

Bradley and Tracy came down to serve today. The Lord showed us some amazing things. The Security guard Kerry began escorting people in but instead of humiliating me like usual he would tell the ladies, "If you begin to have second thoughts or choose life come out and speak with John." I am not kidding. We couldn't believe it.

There was one lady live streaming the preaching and conversations from the porch...

Three guys in a truck came down and got in a huge argument with Kerry out back. They pulled up the drive saying so many horrible things about Kerry threatening to do him great bodily harm.

Then one of the workers came out the back door crying very Loudly speaking of all the wrongs that have been done to her at this place. She came up the drive crying and saying how wicked and horrible this place is. She was leaving never to return. She was Thankful and begged me to never leave this place. Begged me to shut it down. Told her I couldn't do that... In God's timing a friend of mine had told me he needed someone for a job. She was able to get one interview in today and is Going for the second interview tomorrow. Please pray she gets the job and that the Lord would bring her to repentance...

Then the Lord brought a Wonderful Surprise. I was sitting on the wall after preaching and behind me I heard a lady said "Hey John shouldn't you get off your Butt and get to preaching?" I turned around to see Amanda DeWitt. I couldn't believe it. Many of you have been praying for her and her baby Chase for a long time. I haven't seen her in so long. She wanted to come by to say Thank you because she chose life here three years ago. They used to have chairs out on the porch for people to come outside and smoke. She sat out in one of those chairs all day on a Wednesday. She was 26 weeks pregnant. The clinic told her they would just do it saying she was 24 weeks. She cursed me all day long only stopping to come up and spit on me. The place was packed and it was miserable. About 4:00 they called her because it was her turn. She went inside, took her clothes off, got on the table and then one of the strangest things I have ever seen happened. She came out the door in tears hugging me, apologizing, and thanking me for putting up with her. She went on to tell me that once she got on the table a heavy darkness filled the room. She said she could only see a small hole of light. Inside that light she saw me preaching. She jumped off the table and ran out much to the complaints of Randall Whitney and the nurses....

Amanda has had a tough life since then but God isn't finished with her yet. Pease pray for her.
The Blindness of people here is Amazing. So many things going on any given day yet you have people out front stuffing pizza down their faces waiting to kill their children screaming don't you have anything better to do? No one is listening or cares....

Open their eyes Lord...

Break Up Your Fallow Ground

Ploughing
This is from The Christian Excavator blog:
Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity; ye have eaten the fruit of lies: because thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men. Hosea 10:12-13
In this passage God tells His people to break up their fallow ground. Fallow means to be unplowed or uncultivated. It describes a field that has been let go or neglected. Spiritually it describes a heart that has become complacent and unbroken.
My children and grandchildren will reap the iniquity and the “fruit of lies” that several generations of complacent Christians have allowed this nation to sow. I sometimes find it hard to believe how far our nation has plunged. Because of the indoctrination of our school system and the steady corrupting influence of the media most people cannot even discern right from wrong.
“It is time to seek the Lord” Like the people in Hosea’s day we have “plowed wickedness” and then act like we are shocked when we reap iniquity. We have trusted in our own way instead of seeking the Lord.
A.W. Tozer said concerning this passage;
“The fallow field is smug, contented, protected from the shock of the plow and the agitation of the harrow. Safe and undisturbed, it sprawls lazily in the sunshine, the picture of sleepy contentment… But it is paying a terrible price for its tranquility; never does it feel the motions of mounting life, nor see the wonders of bursting seed, nor the beauty of ripening grain. FRUIT IT CAN NEVER KNOW, BECAUSE IT IS AFRAID OF THE PLOW AND THE HARROW… In direct opposite to this, the cultivated field has yielded itself to the adventure of living. The protecting fence has opened to admit the plow, and the plow has come as plows always come, practical, cruel, business-like and in a hurry. Peace has been shattered by the shouting farmer and the rattle of machinery. The field has felt the travail of change; it has been upset, turned over, bruised and broken.”
We have been complacent long enough. We have avoided the plow for too long. Our smug faces need to be washed with tears. Many church doors will close…it is just a matter of time. A lot of churches are just a couple funerals away from extinction.
We need to beg God to plow our hearts. It is true that God will always have a remnant. He will always have His churches. He will always have a people on this earth until He returns…they just may not be here in America. {Some statistics say that 4000 churches shut their doors in America every year}
I had heard several years ago that some countries in the “far east” were preparing to send Christian missionaries to America. A walk through any mall or shopping center reveals how heathen we have become.
Do you really want God to pour out His Spirit on your church, in your community?  Are you prepared for the plow to run through the middle of your undisturbed heart? Do you really want God to plow your fallow ground?
“Lord, prepare my heart to receive thy word, that it may be like the good ground, or I shall be undone for ever. Let my heart be broken up and prepared by thy plough. That I may have a good, an upright and sincere heart.” – Benjamin Keach, Baptist Preacher, Horse-lie-down, Southwark, London {1640-1704}

Some Commentary on the Jackson, Wyoming Fire (2012)

Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Here is some commentary published in the JH Weekly about the Jackson, Wyoming Fire (Horsethief Canyon Fire):

We didn’t start the fire, God did - DISS
.
Many valley residents prayed during the early stages of the Horsethief Canyon Fire. Some East Jackson residents prayed that their home be spared. Some prayed for the safety of the firefighters. Remember the religious group that came to Jackson this spring to fight for the unborn? They prayed we’d burn down.
.
To be fair, only a select few have been spotted in the blogosphere practically cheering the wildfire. Some even believed their prayers brought it upon our town – a Sodomite Jackson getting its comeuppance. At one blogspot run by Tim Shey, the hitchhiking prophet, the following entry appeared on Monday, September 10, the day rain began to fall on the fire:
.
“I prayed: ‘Lord, if it be Your will to put judgment on Jackson, please stop the rain.’ Five to 10 minutes later it stopped. Then I felt led to pray: ‘Lord, if it be Your will, gust the wind. Send wind. Lord, if it is Your will, gust the wind to 40 mph.’ It went from calm to windy. Currently, it is gusting so strong that it blew a planter off my outside table!”
.
The blogger continued: “My four-and-a-half-year-old sang prophetically ‘God! The evil people deserve to die.’ Jackson has been warned three times. Tomorrow is 9-11, a day of Judgment! A Day for Jackson’s Judgment. He comes like a thief in the night! We serve a God who answers with FIRE! Amen! Our family is safe and is out of the path of the fire! Praise Jesus!”
.
Judging from the comment section, this guy is not alone in his belief that the Horsethief Canyon Fire is being used by or was sent by God to smite Jackson for being pro-choice.
.
I don’t mean to berate or belittle this blogger, or any of the other zealots that visited Jackson in May who share the sentiment. But a rebuking may be in order. I am a believer. God, who commanded the universe into existence, is certainly capable of whipping up a 4,000-acre wildfire to teach a town a lesson. Jesus Christ, who died and rose from the dead to offer salvation from sin by the perfect sacrifice, can easily sic a fire on an ungodly town if He desired.
.
But making these outlandish claims in His name only serve to give Christians a bad name.

Ezekiel 14: 13:  "Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it."

Ezekiel 15: 7:  "And I will set my face against them; they shall go out from one fire, and another fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I set my face against them."

Ezekiel 16:  20-21:  "Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter, That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?"

Genesis 1: 26-28:  "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."

The Outsiders

This is from the blog Homeward Bound:
I’ve been doing more praying than writing lately. I’ve been doing more praying than pretty much anything else if I am to be perfectly honest, and I think anyone seeing the world for what it has become, and watching the chess pieces moving on the chessboard with lightning fast speed can do nothing less.
We knew these things were coming, for long and long we knew. Seeing them up close, however, does make one catch their breath and realize these are just the outlying storm clouds. The brunt of the storm itself and the true fury thereof has not yet arrived.
My heart breaks as I watch more and more people tether their hopes to the church, thinking it a place of refuge and safety, only to have their hopes shattered at the revelation that the church is full to the rafters with godless wolves who are tirelessly bringing in destructive heresies, hoping to seduce, to tempt, to deceive, and to shipwreck faith in the Christ, as well as the Word.
It seems like every other day there is some Christian college somewhere embracing what God abhors, and lest anyone have the temerity to say anything about it, they’ve already taken preemptive measures and painted any who would object as being bigoted knuckle draggers whose only place on this earth is a cave somewhere.
There no longer remains reverence for the Word of God, and as such we can call it a story book, the ramblings of long dead people who had nothing better to do than sit down and scrawl some chicken scratches on some parchment, or an antiquated tome likened to an instructional manual on making buggy whips.
There is no outrage, and this outrages me. There is no outcry, no call for the immediate dismissal of those who would slander the Word of God and compare it to nothing more than useless dross and filler.
With each passing day those who continue to cling to Christ and stand on the Word will be labeled outsiders. With each passing day those that refuse to be indoctrinated into the new and glorious heresy will be marginalized, shunned, and made out to be the worst kind of humans.
Most of you already know this; you’ve prepared your hearts for it. You’ve steeled your constitution, and are ready to brave the crashing waves of hatred and vitriol. This post is not so much for you, but for those who still walk about with their heads in the clouds thinking if only they make enough compromises, if only they acquiesce enough, if only they become more and more like the world, the world will eventually embrace them.
As long as you cling to Christ, you are a foreign entity and the world’s singular purpose is to expel you. The only way to be at peace with the world is to betray the cross, and sadly more and more ‘spiritual leaders’ and men of renown are doing exactly that.
For the past six years or so I’ve been warning of coming persecution only to be mocked, ridiculed, and even laughed out of some churches. It’s good to see some are at least are catching up, seeing what’s on the horizon, and beginning to sound the alarm.
Make your peace about being an outsider. Make your peace with the reality that you will be ostracized, maligned, marginalized, and persecuted. Pray not to be spared these things, but rather pray for the boldness, courage, and strength to endure them.
The hour draws nigh, and He who sees all will judge in righteousness and holiness among His own. You will know when this has commenced from the wailing and mourning that will pierce the silence.
With love in Christ,
Michael Boldea Jr.

Contrary to Common Sense

Oswald Chambers, 1874-1817

"We hear it said that Jesus Christ taught nothing contrary to common sense: everything Jesus Christ taught was contrary to common sense. Not one thing in the Sermon on the Mount is common sense. The basis of Christianity is neither common sense nor rationalism; it springs from another centre, viz. a personal relationship to God in Christ Jesus in which everything is ventured on from a basis that is not seen."

“The warrior of God is not the man of muscle and a strong jaw, but the man of un-utterable weakness, the man who knows he has not any power; Jacob is no longer strong in himself, he is strong only in God, his life is no longer marked by striving, but by reliance on God. You cannot imitate reliance on God.”
